KCG's Orientation Training: Good Toolkit You Should Have

Many international students will come across a few concerns when they initially attempting to picture their overseas life as an international student in the near future. They may wonder what life overseas life is really like. Naturally, they will ask questions such as whether he/she understands the tutor, how to work with others, and adjusting to Western styles academic life. Moreover, what kind of challenges they may encounter, how to successfully survive school’s assessments and get better performance, etc.

To help international students ease their fears and prepare for their upcoming study period in overseas, KCG recommends its orientation training. The purpose of this training program is to introduce a few of the most important components in foreign school education experiences to prospective Chinese students. These students may not be well prepared in certain areas, and are at risk of culture shock. The ultimate goal of the course is hence to help students achieve happy, rewarding and more successful experiences from their time overseas. The training covers various topics, ranging from preparation for entry and transition, American / British history, culture and etiquette, pop culture (including useful and interesting insight to popular American culture icons and symbols in Sports, Music, and Cinema.), study norms and student life etc.

KCG will deliver constructive materials such as PPTs and reading materials to students before training begins. Students with overseas studying experience will be invited to share their personal stories, thoughts and suggestions on studying abroad. Based on the positive feedback from previous students, KCG recommends this training to international students who are seeking help in the aforementioned sense.
